I've had it running since launch day, sitting inside my Agent OS next to Claude Code, Hermes and OpenClaw. This is the getting-started guide I wish I'd had: what you're actually installing, how the install works, what version 0.1 will and won't do, and how to wire it into a setup you already have without starting over.

- Run it in your terminal. This is the only terminal moment in the entire process. Paste it, press enter, let it finish.

What to Expect From Version 0.1 — Honestly
The DeepSeek Harness install is the easy part. The preview label is what you need to respect. This is a developer preview, version 0.1, and the docs say in capital letters that THERE WILL BE BREAKING CHANGES. I'd take them at their word.
Things will move around between updates. Plugins will stop working and get fixed. If you try to run your whole business on it today, expect bumps. None of that is a scandal — it's normal for a preview release — but it's far better to know before you install than to hit a breakage next week and assume you did something wrong. You didn't. Within hours of launch there was a desktop version and a curated plugin list, and by day one there were over 300 community plugins indexed across knowledge, media, workflow and integrations categories. You won't need to write any of them — browsing the index and typing plain English is the whole job.

Here's how I actually run it. I installed DeepSeek Harness on the same machine as my other agents, and because it reads agents.md, it inherited my context the moment it arrived — my business, my rules, my projects, all understood on day one.
