Four tests, applied to every community on this list:
- Signal-to-noise for builders. What share of the threads are working setups, honest failures and real questions, rather than screenshots and hype?
- How practical the threads are. Could you copy an approach from a post into your own stack the same day?
- Tolerance for beginners. Some subreddits welcome a first question; others bury it. Both have a place, but you should know which is which before you post.
- Whether you leave with something to ship. The only metric that matters. A good session in any community should end with you building, not scrolling.
